We have extended warranties on both of our vehicles. We recently took them both in to different dealships because they are different types - one a Dodge and one a Honda. Both times we expected not to have to pay for the work because we were told that the warranty would cover almost every repair except oil changes.

Both dealerships gave us the same excuse - road hazard must have caused the problem - maybe a rock or something flew up from the road and put a crack or hole in it or caused it not to work.

Because we received the same excuse for them not fixing our cars under warranty and because they were different dealerships and completely different problems, I was wondering if this is a way for auto dealerships to get away with not taking on the expenses when they should.

Have you heard of this complaint before?

Thank you for your time in considering my question.
