Advanced Safety Systems for the new Lexus 200h CT
CT 200h Lexus is ready to establish new safety standards, giving customers the first time for the new Premium Class C Pre-Crash Safety System and Adaptive Cruise Control, among other technical innovations.
Lexus will announce details this week, while new CT 200h made its U.S. debut at New York Auto Show. The car will be launched in Europe later this year.
Pre-Crash Safety system sets new standards for preventive security in the premium compact segment. Already a key feature in the safety of other Lexus models, the PCS system uses radar sensors to scan more way to detect potential obstacles. When determining a risk of impact, the system assists the driver in reducing the chances of collision.
If there is a high probability of an accident, the PCS system will automatically warn the driver and emergency brake assist when you activate the brakes and pretensions the seat belts.
Adaptive Cruise Control is working with PCS, using radar sensors to maintain constant distance from the vehicle in front, accelerating or hindering, as appropriate.
Besides these two systems, the new Lexus 200h will have CT and other technologies such as braking, Electronically Controlled Regeneration System (ECB-R), which incorporates the new generation of ABS with Brake Assit, traction control and stability control (VSC) .
Passive safety includes 8 airbags, including driver's knee and the right passenger - a first in this segment.
Lexus 200h hybrid full CT model was given its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show. Model goes into production in late 2010 and will be sold in all global markets with a hybrid system consisting of a 1.8-liter gasoline engine VVT-i and a powerful electric motor.
