Audi A1 enter into production in October

In a recent interview for the Belgian daily Le Soir, Alfons Dintner, director of Audi factory in Brussels, confirmed that the version number of the new Audi A1 will start in October and in showroom prices will reach Europe in 2010.

According to the official Audi, the A1 will be produced first as three-door hatchback, the following version Sportback five-door vehicle to be launched later.

Audi A1 was first presented in the form Metroproject Quattro concept in 2007 and more recently at the Auto Salon in Paris last year, the A1 Sportback concept. Model series Audi A1 will be very similar to the two concepts, except for some details such as doors without frames, spoilerele aggressive and the less futuristic.

Audi A1 will be offered with a range of petrol engines and diesel, including the new Volkswagen Group of propelling the 1.2 liter and 1.4 TSI. Audi takes into account and a cabrio version of the roof and a textile version ultraperformantă S1, which would provide approximately 200 HP.
