Audi A8 Hybrid offers 245 hp at a consumption of 6.2 litres/100 km
Audi A8 Hybrid introduced as new technological concept to the Geneva Motor Show. With a 2.0 TFSI petrol engine and an electric, the hybrid system concept developed 245 hp Audi A8, but shows a consumption of only 6.2 litres/100 km.
The propulsion system of the Audi A8 Hybrid concept consists of a 2.0 TFSI petrol turbo engine and an electric motor that develops 245 hp and 480 Nm together. These values allow an acceleration of 0-100 km / h in 7.6 seconds and a top speed of 235 km / h. However, average fuel consumption of just 6.2 litres/100 km, equivalent to 144 g CO 2 / km.
Internal combustion engine of the Audi A8 TDI Hybrid is 2.0 unit - a high-tech engine with four cylinders. This engine was named "Engine of the Year" five times in a row since 2005, is an example of the Audi philosophy of "downsizing" (reduction of engine capacity engine with increased performance). It combines direct fuel injection system with a turbine and AVS (Audi valvelift system). Thus, the 2.0 TFSI engine delivers 155 kW (211 hp) and 350 Nm of torque between 1500 and 4200 rpm.
Gasoline engine is coupled to a synchronous electric motor developing 33 kW (45 hp) and 211 Nm of torque. Power is available almost immediately to complete from start contributing to a strong start sport.
Energy storage system in the new Audi A8 Hybrid consists of a Li-Ion battery pack, located in the rear section of the vehicle, without endangering the load capacity that comes to 400 liters.
Hybrid system architecture provides a first idea of the future number of Audi models - the first being Audi Q5 Hybrid, which will be marketed later this year.
