Audi Q6, rival of BMW X6

Audi has launched plans for a new crossover performance, most likely called Q6, which will compete with the BMW X6, writes AutoWeek. In Geneva, Head of Audi has hinted at a model positioned between the Q5 and Q7.
The new Audi coupe-style crossover Q6 could be built on the same wheel-drive platform that underpins the new generation Volkswagen Touareg and Porsche Cayenne, both using a shorter wheelbase version of the Volkswagen group called the Colorado platform, which is under the Audi Q7 .
There is nothing official, but in an interview with German journalists at the Geneva Motor Show, Rupert Stadler, Audi's director, has hinted at a crossover, saying "there could be a model between the Q5 and Q7 ... a coupe-style, four-wheel drive. "
The company's decision to add its line of crossover coupe models may arise from numerous requests from the subsidiaries in North America and China a serious competitor for the BMW X6, whose global sales have doubled from 20,120 original predictions .
Audi Q6, if produced, would certainly have gasoline and diesel and a hybrid option, as Toureg and the Cayenne.
