Audi R8 Spyder comes at the Frankfurt Auto Show

Those accustomed to read between the lines of official press releases will not certainly be surprised to learn that Audi will soon launch a convertible version of the R8 GT. Ready to be delivered to customers early in the first quarter of next year, the production version R8 Spyder GT will be presented this fall at the Frankfurt Auto Show.

Propelled by the same 5.2-liter V10 engine with 560 horsepower that can be found under the hood and coupe version, Audi R8 Spyder GT will be the fastest convertible on the Ingolstadt company has ever produced to run on public roads.

This, and because it is easier Spyder GT by 80 pounds than the coupe 'normal' R8, through extensive use of carbon fiber elements and, of course, missing ceiling closed version.

About 200 units of Audi R8 Spyder GT will be produced, of which 90 are reserved for North American market, an estimated price of 150,000 euros per copy.
