BMW 328, 75 Years After Launch
BMW 328 was a sports car manufactured by German manufacturer between 1936 and 1940, the car was at that time one of the most successful in motorsport.
Part of this success was due to the many innovations and features present on the machine, some of which are tubular spaceframe site and an engine with hemispherical combustion chamber.
Some enthusiasts will bring their course remember that last year, an 328 Kamm coupe rebuilt marked the 70th anniversary of the victory achieved by a 328 Mille Miglia race in 1940. Well, BMW this year marks the 75th anniversary of rolling out the model 328.
After the model has turned to his right during the middle of 1936, BMW 328 entered into series production in spring 1937. Nothing was left but the car drivers race privilege, it is impressive and easy to use in everyday life.
Agility, acceleration, reliability and extremely low weight were trump cards model. In a time when supercharged models "Kompressor" makes the law in motorsport, BMW 328, weighing only 780 pounds and 80 hp was a sensation.
Of the 464 units built, only around 200 have survived the war and the passage of time, of which about 120 are in Germany. Many of them continue to run in races, including many of those in the private collection of classic cars BMW.
