BMW has officially unveiled the new-generation 6 Series Coupe for 2012

Once released in January of Convertible, BMW introduced now in preview, the next generation BMW 6 Series Coupe, before the start of the Auto Show in China. The new 6 Series Coupe will have two petrol engines of 320 and 407 hp.

With a strong appearance inspired by the BMW 6 Coupe Concept, the third-generation BMW 6 Series Coupe impresses with its irresistible design and exudes more clearly driving dynamics than its predecessor with an improved level of comfort and space.

With a length of 4894 mm, width 1894 mm and a height of 1369 mm, 2 +2 coupe BMW 6 Series is 77 mm longer, 39 mm wider and 5 lower than its predecessor. It also offers a longer wheelbase by 75 mm by 2.855 mm. BMW 6 Series Coupe is the only car in its segment that offers an optimal combination of sports skills class, exclusive comfort and luggage capacity of 460 liters.

Inside the new BMW 6 Series Coupe is at the same level as the convertible version, with a cockpit-oriented more towards the driver and a large display that stands on the center console.

BMW 6 Series Coupe will be available at launch with two engines. BMW 650i coupe with an eight-cylinder engine (4.4 liter twin-turbo engine develops 300 kW/407 hp) BMW 640i Coupe with a 6-cylinder unit (3.0 liter turbo engine develops 235 kW/320 hp). Both engines are equipped as standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The measures include EfficientDyanamics BMW Auto Start-Stop function and how the BMW 640i Coupe PRO ECO. Improved efficiency has increased engine power compared to the previous generation of 30 kW in the BMW 650i and BMW 640i 35kw.

BMW 640i Coupe with 320 hp and 450 Nm accelerates from 0-100 km / h in 5.4 seconds, top speed is electronically limited to 250 km / h. Average consumption is 7.7 litres/100 km. BMW 650i Coupe with 407 hp and 600 Nm accelerates from 0-100 km / h in 4.9 seconds, top speed is electronically limited to 250 km / h. Average consumption is 10.4 litres/100 km. Both engines comply with EU5 emission standards.

BMW 6 Series Coupe has a newly developed chassis, the only car in its segment benefiting from Electric Power Steering system and optional Integral Active Steering. Dynamic Drive Control System is standard equipment and the Dynamic Damper Control and Adaptive Drive is offered as an option.

Also a first for the segment is the adaptive headlights with LED technology for low beam and high beam, including cornering light function, fog lights and rear lights - all LED.

BMW iDrive control system is standard, along with Head-Up Display system, high-quality color graphics, reversing camera with Surround View, Speed ​​Limit Info, BMW Night Vision and Parking Assistant. The range of optional extras includes sports seats with ventilation among other things, exclusive nappa leather and a new Bang & Olufsen surround sound.

New Generation BMW 6 Series Coupe will be officially launched at the Auto Show in China (21 to 28 April 2011).
