BMW X1 xDrive28i launches 2.0-liter engine and 245 hp

BMW launches world's first new four-cylinder gasoline engine 2.0-liter, twin-turbo. BMW X1 xDrive28i, available on the market in the spring, is the first model to benefit from the combination between driving pleasure and efficiency.

The first four-cylinder gasoline engine and technology TwinPower Turbo BMW offers a substantial improvement in power efficiency and also to drive six-cylinder 3.0-liter, naturally aspirated, it replaces the range, developing 180 kW / 245 hp at 5,000 rpm and maximum torque of 350 Nm available from just 1250 rpm.

Built engines almost six-cylinder BMW, the new aluminum 2.0-liter BMW TwinPower enjoy Turbo High precision direct injection and electronic control system VALVETRONIC.

Equipped with a six-speed manual transmission and an optional eight-speed automatic, the new generation of BMW four-cylinder engine is the latest innovation in technology of BMW EfficientDyanamics, including Auto Start-Stop (on versions with manual transmission) .

BMW X1 xDrive28i even greater agility combined with significant reductions in fuel consumption and emissions. Its average consumption is just 7.9 litres/100 km (an improvement of 1.5 litres/100 km) and 183 grams CO 2 / km (down by 38 g compared to the previous engine). Its dynamic qualities are very good: accelerates from 0-100 km / h in 6.1 seconds (manual gearbox) or 6.5 seconds (automatic gearbox with less than 0.3 seconds) and the maximum speed is 240 km / h.

Simultaneously with the launch of new BMW X1 xDrive28i in the spring, after the premiere at the Geneva Motor Show (March 3 to 13, 2011), an M Sports Package will make its debut in this series of models. It will be available on all engine versions of the BMW X1 Compact.
