Cadillac is preparing a rival to the BMW 3 Series |
|
According to spy shots, Cadillac is preparing a rival to the upcoming BMW 3 Series design language that will continue "art and science." The model, which could be called ATS, will draw back and hit the market in late 2012.
The new model has been approved for production before the fall General Motors bankruptcy protection. Driving GM says the car is the main target customers of BMW 3 Series. He was referred to rear-wheel drive configuration and performance characteristic segment that it will attack.
ATS will be Cadillac's entry-level model positioned below the CTS. The strategy is part of General Motors' Cadillac brand to reinvent itself. In addition to ATS, Cadillac will introduce a large class sedan next year called XTS (based on the concept XTS Platinum). The vehicle will have the same platform with the Buick LaCrosse and other GM models.
Cadillac is planning a model city, developed by Urban Luxury Concept first presented at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
The old DTS and STS will most likely out of production.
