Chevrolet Corvette Centennial Edition 2012 celebrates the tradition of participation in the race
Performance tradition by celebrating Chevrolet Chevrolet Corvette Centennial Edition, featuring shades of black elegant, unique design elements and technology specific Corvette sports car.
Beginning this summer, Centennial Edition 2012 package will be available for all Corvette models, including the Grand Sport, Z06 and ZR1.
This special package was originally inspired by the concept of Chevrolet's racing car, a concept that endures through international performance of the Corvette racing and sports car series fame.
"Racing and Performance Chevrolet is roots, and this tradition is carried on today by the Corvette," said Rick Scheidt, vice president of marketing for Chevrolet. "The Centennial Edition not only celebrating 100 years of history of our brand, but also bear the name to a new generation of Corvette fans of motor sport."
Auctioned Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Centennial Edition car at an auction for collectors of cars, which took place at Barrett-Jackson house in West Palm Beach, Florida, USA, on 9 April, and the amount awarded will be donated Austin Hatcher Foundation for the fight against cancer in children. This 2012 Corvette will be car number 100 out of the assembly line, the identification number ending in "00100."
Chevrolet Corvette Centennial Edition is part of racing tradition. The package includes exclusive Centennial Edition Carbon Flash Metallic color, graphics and wheels black satin Black Satin Centennial unique and red brake calipers. Model Z06 wheels are cast aluminum and are easily shaped with a thin line in red. They are specific to each model Corvette in part, among them variants are 18/19 inch models coupe, convertible and the Grand Sport and 19/20 inches for Z06 and ZR1 models.
Magnetic Selective Ride Control system, suspensions representing the fastest response speed in the world - a breakthrough for the first time in the Corvette - is included in all models of Chevrolet Corvette Centennial Edition.
The Centennial Edition includes also special logo, which underlines the historical connection between Chevrolet and racing. A graphic that includes Louis Chevrolet's flagship image appears on the B-pillars, the wheels and steering wheel center caps. And the headrests are adorned with an embossed graphic marking the centennial.
Connoisseurs will also notice another detail: Centennial Edition model only, which contains historical crossed flags emblem includes a small adaptation: the number "100" replaced the traditional flower of the lily.
Exterior color range is continued inside with the instrument panel and doors Ebony leather, highlighted by red stitching will also be found on the steering wheel, seats, console and gearshift lever. Seats are upholstered with microfiber suede to remember, like the steering wheel, gear shift and armrests for the first time in the model Carbon Limited Edition Z06 2011.
Chevrolet Centennial Edition package will be available for all Corvette models and will order code ZLC. Price will be announced over the summer, before the actual launch on the market.

Chevrolet Corvette Z06 2012 Centennial Edition (NIV 100) which was put up for auction is based on the series 3LZ, plus Z07 performance package, the new engine hood Z06 carbon fiber components and fiber package CFZ carbon, which includes:
- Bose premium audio system, including a one-year XM subscription, navigation system and USB port
- Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free use of mobile phone
- Electrically adjustable and heated seats
- Memory Package, Remote Control, Head Up Display electrically adjustable steering wheel and deep
- Custom leather upholstery package with the upper instrument panels, door panels, top and cap space for storage console leather with contrasting red seams
- Z07 Performance Package, which includes ceramic Brembo brakes, Magnetic Ride Control suspension and 19/20 inch wheels with Michelin tires
- Package includes CFZ door thresholds, splitter front and carbon fiber roof
- New high engine hood, carbon fiber, optional Z06 model, first launched with the 2011 model Z06 Carbon Edition
The successful bidder will also participate in the program Corvette Engine Build Experience, which allows buyers Z06 and ZR1 models to build their own engine with a team of expert technicians and the opportunity to take possession of the vehicle at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
