Chevrolet sales rose in 13 European markets

Chevrolet Europe has sold 232,417 cars in January-June period, up by 16,401 units, equivalent to 8.0% over the same period the previous year (2009: 216,016 cars). Chevrolet's market share rose to 2.4%.

"Increasingly more European customers benefit from our new range: Chevrolet Mini cars, small and compact, great looking, available at very affordable prices," said Wayne Brannon, Chevrolet Europe president operations. "In 2011, we launched seven new models and range will expand to cover two thirds of the market, compared with current coverage of 40% of the market," said Brannon.

Chevrolet has received large increases in sales in many countries of Southern Europe in Spain, France, Portugal, Greece and Turkey. Also in Denmark, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland and Belgium have been expressed as percentage increases in sales of two or three digits.

In Russia, where the market is recovering gradually, Chevrolet maintained its leadership among the non-local brands, with a stable market share of 6.5 percent.

Due to launch in the mini segment, the new Chevrolet Spark, Chevrolet was able to increase share in Europe, from 5.7 to 7.0 percent in this segment recorded a slight decrease, becoming the fourth best-selling brand in this category, with sales of 50,127 vehicles.

In the four-door compact car segment, the Chevrolet Cruze, appointed by AUTOBEST 2010 machine, with a score of five stars in Euro NCAP continues to be market leader in many countries, with market share in the segment they belong Up to 36%, as in Spain, where they were sold in 4375 Cruze car during January to June this year.
