Citroen C3 Picasso, Recalled That The Passenger Can Curb Service!

Citroen recalls 22,000 cars in service C3 Picasso sold in the United Kingdom (Right-hand drive) to solve a problem with the braking system: passenger car brake on the left can act!

French manufacturer PSA Peugeot Citroen has announced it will recall about 22,000 units in service in England C3 Picasso sold to fix a potential problem with the brakes.

A company spokesman said he "will call C3 Picasso models that have the right driving position." Citroen wants to ensure that the passenger who sits on the front seat, left, can not accidentally activate the car's brakes.

The problem was confirmed in right-hand drive models and comes as a result of conversion of the initial configuration, drive on the left. Pedal has been moved to the right, but is connected to the braking system that remained in its original position.

Such an approach is used by many manufacturers to change their cars for the UK market, but in his Citroen C3 Picasso passengers left foot braking are separated by only a thin piece of carpet. If the passenger presses the floor in place, the car brakes.

A British company that has a small fleet of car Citroen C3 Picasso drew attention to this situation in a BBC TV and then got in touch with auto expert Mark Brown, an engineer. "It is indeed a problem that could be very dangerous," he said, "because the passenger knows that he is acting brakes or driver does not know what happens."

According to Citroen's designers have created a small panel to cover the hole left by the pedals shifted to the right, but the first 22,000 cars C3 Picasso has not been installed - a particular case in which "the left does not know what is right."
