Confirmed: Mazda CX-5 will be launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show
The new CX-5 compact SUV based on the concept MINAGI will be the first new-generation Mazda model which will integrate technologies and line design SKYACTIV Kodo. The new Mazda CX-5 will be released in 2012 after the first will debut in Frankfurt.
Mazda Motor Corporation announced that the new compact crossover SUV will be named Mazda CX-5. This series is derived from the concept model MINAGI Mazda, which was first presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March this year and will be exhibited at the International Auto Show in New York on April 20, 2011.
CX-5 will be the first vehicle produced in series and will fit new Mazda design theme, Kodo - Soul Movement, first presented last year model Mazda SHINARI concept. Along with the new design line, CX-5 will include a series of SKYACTIV technologies, including new generation engines, transmissions, body and chassis. CX-5 will fall into the range of Mazda models available globally since 2012.
"CX" is indicative of the range Mazda crossover SUVs, which includes Mazda CX-7 and Mazda CX-9. CX-5 will be the compact of the range.
Mazda CX-5 will make its international debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2011.
