Daimler reopening negotiations with Renault model Smart Forfour

German auto group Daimler to cooperate with the French manufacturer Renault for relaunching Smart Forfour model, according to sources close the discussions on this topic taking place between the two sides.

The negotiations relate to the formation of a partnership that launched the Smart Forfour, whose production was halted in 2006 for the Smart fortwo, according to an article that will appear Friday in a German magazine, quoted by Mediafax

Daimler representatives have declined to comment, and those of Renault were not available.
