Debut of new Jeep Grand Cherokee in Europe will be delayed

As a result of strong U.S. demand for next-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee, the production of diesel versions and thus slowing the onset is late model European markets. The new Grand Cherokee will arrive in Europe in 2011.
According to sources close to the American manufacturer, gasoline versions of the new Grand Cherokee will arrive in the fourth quarter of 2010, while diesel versions, which will surely be the best selling in Europe, will begin only in the second quarter of 2011, says Automotive News Europe.
Jeep originally planned to introduce next-generation Grand Cherokee in Europe in the third quarter of this year and plant in Detroit was to deliver diesel versions in the first quarter of 2011.
To meet demand, Chrysler Group could add a third hand at the plant in Detroit, according to sources close to the manufacturer. 1080 Chrysler recently hired people for the second exchange, which began work on July 19. Jeep Grand Cherokee is produced only at its plant in Detroit, where 2837 people now work. Previous generation Grand Cherokee for Europe was produced in Austria by Magna Steyr.
The European version of the new Grand Cherokee will be available with a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine produced by VM Motori in Italy. The current model has a Grand Cherokee diesel 3.0-liter V6 with 218 hp Mercedes provenance.
