Euro NCAP is most reliable car launched in 2009

For the first time, Euro NCAP is one of the top five safest cars tested in 2009, based on their maximum rating of five stars and their total score. The first place is the Volkswagen Golf VI, followed by the Honda Insight and Toyota Prius.

The top five of the most reliable cars tested by Euro NCAP in 2009, Volkswagen Golf 6 is the first place. This model was tested first in 2008 under the old scheme of rating, but in 2009 was subject to new regulations. Honda Insight and Toyota Prius, two of the most effective vehicles tested in 2009 took place two or three in the top Euro NCAP. Hyundai I20 is located on four and five are three machines, tied: Toyota Avensis, Volvo XC60 and Opel / Vauxhall Astra.

The weak results of 2009 were attributed Suzuki Alto models and Toyota Urban Cruiser - both received only three stars.

In 2010, the threshold to achieve maximum Euro NCAP stars increased from 75% to 80% for adult occupants and protection from 70% to 75% for Child Protection occupants. Protecting children also increased to 40%.

The first results in 2010, under these stringent requirements will be made public on March 3, 2010.
