Euro NCAP tested the Citroen C4, Honda CR-Z, Suzuki Swift and Hyundai ix35
Today, Euro NCAP has released the latest safety tests carried out with four new car - Citroen C4, Honda CR-Z, Suzuki Swift and Hyundai ix35 - all received the maximum rating of 5 / 5 stars.
Today's results show that vehicle manufacturers have high expectations from the new scheme Euro NCAP rating and continue to make safety a priority. Honda CR-Z demonstrated a good safety level must not be compromised by an efficient gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain: the results of its continuous pedestrian protection score obtained by recent high-Honda models.
Several car manufacturers are expected to launch all-electric vehicle in the near future, and Euro NCAP announced that it will test soon to ensure that high safety standards are maintained and the first results of these tests will be made public at the beginning 2011.
Since October, Euro NCAP will provide a more complete guide on safety reviews of new cars. Advanced Euro NCAP will test new technologies that now are taken by collimator current crash tests. Three of the four cars tested recently had ESP as standard. Citroen C4 offers ESC as an option on the basic version in some countries but has qualified for five stars because it is expected that sales in standard versions with ESP to exceed those in the basic version.
Under European law, ESP will be installed in standard binding on all new models from 2012 and from 2014 all new cars at marketing.
