Fiat brings together brands Alfa Romeo, Maserati and Abarth under a single management

Fiat has created a new group for sports brands Alfa Romeo, Maserati and Abarth, led by Harald J. Wester, currently occupying the position of CEO of Maserati and Abarth and the Fiat Group Automobiles director technician.

Fiat Group, which last year bought 20% of U.S. giant Chrysler continues to make changes in its structure and business executive. Friday, the Italian company director, Sergio Marchionne has revealed plans to create a new group for athletes makes Alfa Romeo, Maserati and Abarth, led by Harald J. Wester.

"Bringing brands Alfa Romeo, Maserati and under the same management Abarth aims to better capitalize on the common qualities of the three brands in terms of sportiness and performance," said Sergio Marchionne in a press conference.

In his new position, Wester must identify potential synergies between Maserati and Alfa Romeo - brand of the loss and a future with less certainty. One of these is that it will not be sold, Sergio Marchionne saying this very clearly. "Alfa Romeo is not for sale.

According to Automotive News, among the options that Fiat is considering them and stop all investments are for Alfa Romeo, leaving only brand with two new models: Mi.To and Giulietta - Alfa 147's replacement. If the new Giulietta will prove successful, Marchionne will review the future of the brand, and if not, Alfa Romeo will be a very difficult position.
