Fiat Punto recall 130000 cars in Europe
Italian carmaker Fiat will recall 130,000 cars in service in Europe Punto, due to possible problems with network ABS braking system cables, said Thursday a spokesman for the group.
Fiat said that in some vehicles the ABS cable network could be installed incorrectly to the battery, which could cause a short circuit.
The campaign targets over 130,000 units, models Grande Punto, Punto Evo, Evo Punto Grande Punto Van and Van. These vehicles have problems, but some may be due to a faulty cable assembly of ABS, which was discovered in vehicles in the same series. A cable could be pinched during assembly and could cause a short circuit, said Fiat's representative.
Over half of recalled vehicles are in Italy and in other European countries.
