Ford Presented The New Three-Cylinder Turbo Engine Will Be Launched From B-MAX

Ford is expanding its range of efficient engines of 1.0 liter engine with a three-cylinder EcoBoost - the smallest engine ever built by U.S. manufacturer. The engine will come in range of B-MAX will be fully unveiled at Frankfurt.

Engineers at Ford's Dunton Technical Centre in the UK have started working on the new 1.0-liter EcoBoost well before the significant increase in fuel prices. Their aim was to create a three-cylinder engine that delivers ultra-efficient four-cylinder engine performance, but at a much lower consumption and emissions.

The new three-cylinder engine will be available in U.S. producer Ford Global range, having an important role in the American market.

"Customers tell us they want to buy more affordable and more economical cars," said Derrick Kuzak, Ford development director. "Our 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine will offer customers a cheaper alternative to the efficiency of hybrid cars."

Now place the last calibration of the new 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine that will provide power and torque at levels similar to or better than most gasoline engines naturally aspirated 1.6-liter, Kuzak said, so about 90-100 hp.

Ford EcoBoost 1.0-liter engine is small in size but is very advanced technologically. "Nobody has built a three-cylinder engine like this. Not only is one of the most technologically advanced and highly efficient, but will introduce a number of new technologies in the line of Ford engines, "said Joe Bakaj, Ford vice president responsible for global engines.

Ford first introduced the concept of Go, which debuted in Beijing in 2010, Ford EcoBoost 1.0-liter engine has recently made its European debut on the Ford B-MAX at the Geneva Motor Show.

More technical details will be revealed but at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, when Ford will probably present and version number of B-MAX, the model will be built in Romania at the plant in Craiova.
