Ford went on profit in the second quarter

Ford posted a net profit of 2.3 billion dollars in the second quarter of 2009, due to the restructuring of debt in the context of the automotive industry has been devastated by global economic crisis, writes Reuters.

However, the company posted losses from continuing operations of 638 million U.S. dollars for the second quarter.

Decision not to request support from the state helped the group to record a decrease in lower sales compared with rivals General Motors Co.. and Chrysler Group LLC, while the executive director of Ford, Alan Mulally, is facing the toughest conditions in the automotive industry, from early'80.

Also, Ford has posted revenues of 27.2 billion dollars. In the second quarter of 2008, the group reported losses of 8.7 billion dollars, Bloomberg writes.

American company, which posted losses of over 31 billion U.S. dollars since the beginning of 2006, previously announced that it has substantially increased production in North America during the second quarter, intending to build more cars in the third quarter of 2009 than in the same period in 2008.
