Production was launched in Tramagal, Portugal, in 1980, with production of 1,500 Fuso Canter trucks. Automotive products are Tramagal roads in over 30 European countries.
30 years ago, opened the first Fuso Canter Tramagal production line. Located 150 kilometers northeast of Lisbon, in Tramagal plant opened in 1964 following a Franco-Portuguese cooperation aimed at the production of vehicles for the Portuguese army.
In 1990, Portuguese importing company, Mitsubishi Motors Portugal (MMB), acquired the plant, and in 1996 Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has decided to concentrate production in Europe Tramagal Canter trucks. Since 2003, Fuso Canter was included in the product portfolio of Daimler Trucks.
In 2004, production centers have been renamed Tramagal Mitsubishi Fuso Truck Europe, SA Hence the Fuso Canter is delivered daily in over 30 countries in Europe.
Product for the first time in Japan in 1963 and 1980 in Europe, Fuso Canter came to the seventh generation. "We are proud of the success of Fuso Canter in the last 30 years, in Europe," said Alexander Müller, Head of Sales and Marketing Fuso Europe. "When I started making models Fuso Canter in 1980, a total of 1,500 trucks were produced Tramagal. In 2007, production exceeded 10,000 trucks." Rule voluntary EEV guarantee low emissions by about one third compared with current Euro 5 standards. Fuso Canter will be prepared, so be subject to rules on environmental protection. "Resort to such measures to expand market presence of Fuso Canter, and we add the Euro 5 compliant engine aligned VEE rules, as standard equipment, available in all variants," added Müller.
Located in Kawasaki, Japan, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) is one of the top companies producătoarele commercial vehicles in Asia. Daimler owns 85 percent of MFTBC.
