General Motors wants to build a car in Asia by Euro 2800
U.S. car manufacturer General Motors wants to extend the cheap car market by manufacturing in Asia, a model compact low-cost, which will be sold at the price of 2,800 euros.
GM will not build cars as cheap as the Nano, produced by Indian company Tata Motors, but will target the vehicles at reduced prices, said executive director for GM's overseas operations, Nick Reilly, cited by DowJones Newswire.
Official stated that the car will be produced, most likely in Asia, but the country of manufacture has not been established.
Tata Nano, launched in July, is the cheapest car in the world. The car is sold at the price of 1,500 euros, the basic version, and Tata Motors, encouraged by the success of the model, expects sales of up to 500,000 units per year.
