Germany: Registrations of new cars fell in the last 20 years minimum

The number of registrations of new cars in Germany fell in January for the second consecutive month, by 4.2% compared to same period in 2009, to 181,500 units, the lowest level in 20 years.
According to VDIK (German association of foreign car manufacturers), the number of registrations largest car market in Europe fell in January 2010 although auto sales fell 14% in the same month in 2009. Registrations fell by 5% in December, the first annual decline in the last 11 months.
Application of the German car market fell after the software increased fleet renewal authorities remained out of funds in early September 2009. The program has the resources of five billion euros.
The same trend could be felt this year and other European car market, notes Reuters news agency, quoted by Medifax.
VDIK estimated in December that new car registrations in Germany will fall from over 3.8 million vehicles in 2009 to 2,8-2,9 million in 2010. Last year, government subsidies have helped push the market by 23%.
