Hatchback Chevrolet Cruze is launched in Geneva

Once at the Paris Motor Show was presented as a concept, has announced that the Chevrolet Cruze series hatchback model will be launched at the Geneva Motor Show in March, following the spring to come to market.

After numerous awards and now Champion WTCC (World Touring Car Championship), Chevrolet Cruze will become a more attractive offer to customers earlier this year when the new hatchback body version will be offered for sale on the market. The series will celebrate its world premiere at the 81st edition of the Geneva Motor Show (March 3 to 13, 2011).

Date of launch of the new model could not be better for Chevrolet after the manufacturer has been crowned World Touring Car Champions in December for the first time. Success in racing proves Chevrolet Cruze potential and dynamic qualities, and the release of the five-door hatchback with a sedan version is further proof that Chevrolet wants to bring more value to the average European market segment.

Last year at the Paris Motor Show, Chevrolet introduced the new Cruze hatchback concept as being very well received by the public. The series is expected to remain faithful to the concept image. Chevrolet Cruze hatchback luggage capacity is about 400 liters, benefiting from a 60/40 folding bench seat.

Introducing the new Cruze hatchback is critical for Europe, as Wayne Brannon, director of Chevrolet Europe explains: "hatchback models play an important role in many markets. Compact segment in Europe is more than a quarter of the total market and hatchback sites represent about 65% by volume. New Cruze Chevrolet hatchback comes to strengthen its position among volume brands in Europe and is a vehicle that will bring new levels of value to other older competitors in this segment. "

The new five-door hatchback Chevrolet Cruze will go on sale across Europe in mid 2011, prices being announced nearer the time of launch.
