Audi has succeeded for the first time in history to surpass Mercedes sales in the first quarter.

The first quarter of 2010 marks an event unique market segment before the premium manufacturers. Audi has managed to sell in the first three months of the year with more than 15,600 Mercedes car for the first time in history that sales exceeded the Ingolstadt brand manufacturer in Stuttgart.

During the period analyzed, Audi sold 264,100 units, while Mercedes sold just 248,500 units. BMW has not yet released figures for the first quarter. Audi has recorded an increase of over 25% of sales in pruimul quarter of 2010 versus the comparable period a year earlier.

VW Brand Group invests 7.3 billion euros to launch Nov. 8 models by 2015 and needs sustained growth of its sales.
