Hyundai i-flow begins at the Geneva

Update! Hyundai has announced it will present a new concept at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Hyundai i-Flow, a diesel-electric hybrid vehicle, created to design center in Germany, offers the first details of a future production model segment

February 26 update:

Hyundai has released a second photo of its new i-Flow concept and new information of future middle-class sedan that will compete with the Ford Mondeo.

New Propulsion Concept Hyundai i-Flow consists of a diesel-electric hybrid system which is being launched speculate on models of Hyundai Group - Kia in 2012. Engine "U2" 1.7-liter diesel is aided by a turbocharger in two stages and an electric motor powered by a set of Li-Ion batteries. Power is transferred to the wheels through a six-speed manual transmission, the dual-clutch transmission.

According to the Korean manufacturer, Hyundai's new concept i-Flow has an average consumption of just 3.0 litres/100 km, equivalent to 85 g CO2/km.

Created in Hyundai's design center in Germany, the concept and flow is expected to attract attention, particularly because of its appearance - the latest form of language "fluid sculpture (sculpture fluid). Name and flow reflects exceptionally aerodynamic shape and lines like floating.

Hyundai i-flow concept also incorporates new technology to chemical company BASF, from innovative lightweight materials to solar cells, which helps reduce weight and improve energy efficiency.

More details and photos will be disclosed by Hyundai in the press conference at the Geneva Motor Show on March 2.
