Hyundai sales in Europe rose by 4.3%
In the first nine months of 2010, Hyundai sales in Europe rose by 4.3%, exceeding the overall results of the auto market, which fell by 3.7% compared with 2009. Since the beginning of the year, Hyundai sold 274,603 cars.
According to the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA), Hyundai has achieved a market share of 2.6%, thus being on the road to achieving the annual target company's market share of 2.75%.
While the market declined in September by 9.2%, Hyundai's sales of 33,571 units - a fall of just 3.8% over the same month last year.
Having received a facelift in the spring, the new i30 continues to be the most successful model from Hyundai in Europe this year, sales grew by 30% compared to 2009. i20 has evolved as well, with sales growth of 24% compared with the first nine months of last year.
In the fourth quarter, Hyundai ix20 Europe will launch a completely new model, which debuted at the Paris Motor Show. The new mini-MPV provides best in class results in terms of safety, environmental protection and dedicated customer service benefits. Triple Five Year Care Pack offers five-year warranty with unlimited miles roadside assistance for five years and regular technical checks for five years. Ix20 model and will join the new i10 mini car class, which adopts the new face of Hyundai family and numerous stylistic and technical improvements. All range models and have undergone a complete facelift in 2010.
Allan Rushforth, Hyundai Motor Europe vice president, said: "This year, Hyundai has kept the trend of increased sales and new models coming in the fourth quarter will allow us to finish 2010 on a strong position. The arrival of ix20 model and the new i10 in Europe signals the beginning of a period of intense launches, during which we will enter the market on November 10 models and versions in a period of approximately two years. "
