Jaguar and Land Rover will become "Made in China"

Tata wants to build models of Jaguar and Land Rover in China, in an attempt to cut costs and expand sales of luxury brands into new and growing business, said on Friday, Carl-Peter Forster, director of the company.

Tata will begin production in China Land Rover models, both brands and finally to a combined production of 40,000 units, according to statements by Carl-Peter Forster, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover at a press conference in London, quoted by Automotive News. But it did not specify an exact date of commencement of such operations.

Jaguar and Land Rover will compete with manufacturers such as BMW AG and Daimler AG Chinese market - the fastest growing economy in the world annually. Here, the company Jaguar Land Rover has a market share of 8%, with 208,197 units shipped in the last 12 months, according to Tata.

"China is a market with great potential," said Forster. "We need to grow and other markets. Must grow in China, Europe, South Africa, South America. We have many potential markets, company officials said.

Tata Motors bought Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford in 2008 to 2.5 billion dollars. Indian company was able to obtain profits in the fiscal year ended March 2010, while the sales of commercial vehicles increased in India, and Jaguar and Land Rover have reduced labor costs and to have made a profit.
