Lagonda: The range will consist of 2-3 models

Ulrich Bez, the big boss of Aston Martin, has revealed that the British Car of the Lagonda brand reborn with a range of two or three models. The offer will consist of a sporty crossover, sort of a station similar to an Audi allroad, but of course the most prestigious-and a large flagship designed to pick up the thread of the Lagonda was designed in 1976 by Sir William Towns.

The model discussed is obviously the first of the three: preceded by a "shocking" concept car at Geneva Motor Show 2009, will be the largest sport utility, but will have a very different style from that of the prototype, it is clear today, it was designed with the express purpose of attracting attention and explore the public's reaction to a possible return of Lagonda.

This proposal, as he had anticipated Aston officially a few months ago, "looks specifically at those countries where they drive an Aston throughout the year is made impossible by the weather and by those roads." In other words, the Lagonda SUV, which will originate from the platform of the new Mercedes ML (debut in 2011), was born to please the Russians.

This proposal will be marked in any case a very sporty look with a ground clearance is not high, rubber exaggerated sporty proportions, muscular lines. "In any case, Lagonda will not survive with only one model: this is why we plan to do at least two or three," says Bez. "The most logical proposal after the crossover is certainly a great luxury sedan not too dissimilar to the Lagonda William Towns."

According to Car, the possibility that this model can be created on the basis of the next Maybach is not so concrete. The third project is known internally as Project Lagonda Swan, and is intended to "combine traditional luxury with advanced packaging and a very sophisticated powertrain. This will most likely be a hybrid solution that Mercedes is set to launch in the near future.
