Lancia Flavia, based on the new Chrysler 200, will debut in Geneva

Lancia will launch a rebranded version of the Chrysler 200 in Europe, possibly named Flavia, stated Sergio Marchionne, CEO of Fiat. The new model will debut in Geneva in March and will be sold as a sedan and cabriolet in 2012.

New Lancia Flavia will replace the Chrysler Sebring in Europe. "The new Chrysler 200 will come - including the convertible version - in Europe as Lancia, and Flavia is a very good indication of his name," said Sergio Marchionne at the Auto Show in Detroit.

For the Geneva Motor Show, Lanvia prepared and disclosed a new flagship, a model called the Thema, which is basically a rebranded version of the new mid-range sedan Chrysler 300 and a Lancia version of the Chrysler Voyager minivan's, Ypsilon subcompact with facelift.

Lancia hopes that these three models will offer a brand with very weak sales momentum in the market and bring higher marginal profits or they will be positioned over the Delta compact hatchback, the largest Italian manufacturer's current model range.

Thema and Voyager will be on sale in the second half of 2011 Lancia brand in Europe, except Great Britain and Ireland, where they will be sold as the Chrysler brand Lancia here has not been released.

Flavia will be launched in Europe in early 2012. Chrysler 200 Convertible version will launch in North America in February at the Chicago Auto Show in New York and in April 2012.
