Mazda 2: 30 km / l With The New Engine SkyActiv-G Gasoline

Mazda Japan has announced the specifications of the engine SkyActiv-G 1.3-liter gasoline direct injection, which will soon be included in the Mazda 2.

First new family of small petrol Mazda will introduce the latest generation of future models, propose technical solutions, like the Miller cycle operation with very driven timings for the valves, the compression ratio of 14.0:1, the aluminum base , primers newly designed, the 30% reduction in internal friction, the Start-Stop system and the combination of the new generation CVT continuously variable.

Capable of 84 hp at 5400 rpm and 112 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm, should ensure an average fuel consumption of 30 km / l, at least in the approval tests in Japan.

The Mazda Demio, the Japanese version of the Mazda 2 is also equipped with an EGR valve specification which differs from that for the European market. The Demio 1.3 SkyActive-G should be available by early 2012, so it is plausible to expect similar timing for marketing in Europe.
