Mazda's motorsport season opens on the Swedish ice. After the success of last year's MX-5, Mazda enthusiasts invited to Sweden to race MX-5 Ice between 21 and 24 February 2011.

A total of 20 vehicles Mazda MX-5, modified to run on ice and shod with special tires, will participate in the race for four hours a 5 km long circuit.

Mazda MX-5 will be piloted by teams from 26 countries, including examples have included participants with experience in motorsport and journalists and fans who won tickets to the special event organized competitions on TV or in the press.

Has four-day event in Sweden will include two training sessions, a qualifying session to determine grid positions, followed by the race itself, divided into two sessions. The team made the most laps in four hours of racing to win.
