Mazda sales and production have increased globally in 2010
Mazda Motor Corporation announced positive results for the year 2010 both in terms of global production, which increased by 32.8% to 1,307,540 units and sales volume.
Domestic production (Japan) from January to December 2010 increased by 27.3% compared to same period in 2009 based on increased production of passenger vehicles. Evolution of key models in the range of reference:
- Mazda3: 383,252 units (up 17.9%)
- Mazda2: 159,079 units (up 9.4%)
- CX-7: 90,099 units (up 148.7%)
Production facilities outside Japan accounted for the same period increased by 47.6% compared with 2009, reflecting increases at both cars and commercial vehicles. In the period January to December 2010 models manufactured outside of Japan Key:
- Mazda6: 182,999 units (up 36.7%)
- Mazda2: 71,926 units (up 170.2%)
- Mazda3: 70,826 units (up 30.4%)
Regarding sales of Mazda in Japan in 2010, they increased by 9.5% over the previous year, the result of relying, as in the production, the increase in sales of passenger vehicles. Mazda automobile market share was 5.4%.
Sales of locally based models:
- Mazda2: 65,950 units (up 18.6%)
- Mazda5: 25,553 units (up 68.1%)
- Biante: 11,909 units (up 9.6%)
Mazda's exports in 2010 increased by 29.8% YoY, the determining factor being the increased sales in North America, Europe, Oceania and other regions (Middle East, Asia, Africa and Central and South America). Key Mazda models exported last year amounted to:
- Mazda3: 352,891 units (an increase of 19.4%)
- CX-7: 87,635 units (up 153.3%)
- Mazda6: 68,457 units (up 62.6%)
