Mazda sales in Europe rising

Mazda Motor Europe ended 2009 with sales of 17,800 cars in December - up by 9.4% over the same period last year. Mazda sales have increased significantly in the 5 major European markets.

In the UK, Mazda has an absolute record sales in December with a volume of 4,700 units, an increase of 264%, translating into a monthly market share estimated at 3.2%. Full year sales of Mazda in the UK were at 49,500 units, with an estimated annual market share 2.5%, the highest ever recorded. Mazda has increased in Germany, where 2608 units were sold, a 4.7% increase compared to December last year.

In 2009, Mazda sales of 60,032 units in Germany, 6.7% more than in 2008.

And France have recorded significant sales for the second consecutive month, with a volume of 1,400 units, with 46% more, and in Italy 1100 Mazda car owners have found, equivalent to an increase of 54%.

Other countries have had 3 second consecutive month of sales growth - in Switzerland, Mazda sold 760 units in December, with 71% more, and in Turkey the largest estimated market share ever, at 1.4%, was reached based on the volume of sales of 390 units, with 42% more than the same period last year, in Sweden were sold 280 units, with 30% more.

Mazda has been a good month in Norway where 250 units were sold, with 41% more than last year, and the Netherlands recorded a sales volume of 200 units, with 193% more. A sales record was set in December in Slovenia, with 80 units, and in Hungary, Mazda has the highest market share in December, estimated at 2.9%.
