Mazda Technologies Were Awarded SKYACTIV
Mazda has won the international award for innovation in technology SKYACTIV Fleet World Honours. Mazda has been honored with this award on 11 May 2011, the Royal Automobile Club in London.
Fleet World Honours are awarded annually automotive manufacturers, service companies and those who made the highest standards of excellence in the field of operation.
Mazda's first model that will incorporate technologies SKYACTIV will be premiered this year at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Mazda CX-5 will use traditional technologies - in exchange for expensive hybrid systems - as a solution to increased fuel prices and European standards increasingly stringent emission. SKYACTIV will get these things through better engine efficiency, using lighter transmission, stop-start technology breakthrough, a lighter and heavier chassis and an aerodynamic upper. This overall approach will lead to achieving the automotive development of new limits on compression ratio and exterior design, while maintaining the image of "fun to drive" Mazda Zoom-Zoom1
Obtaining such progress using existing technologies has brought to Mazda Fleet World Award 2011 Innovation Award. In this presentation, jury president (and publisher of Fleet World magazine) Steve Moody said: "The introduction of these technologies will not only result in a significant reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions for all Mazda models but will also guarantee that the strategy Mazda's Sustainable Zoom-Zoom can continue to provide fuel efficiency and low emissions for company car owners enthusiasts.
In Europe, Mazda's fleet already offers customers an attractive range of cars, fun to drive, they have low maintenance costs and excellent residual values. "These things will improve even further" said Christian Blank, director of fleet operations for Europe, "by launching SKYACTIV vehicles and Mazda's portfolio will become more attractive to business customers in Europe."
