Mazda2 will be the most efficient gasoline car in the world

With the new generation of engines SKY Mazda2 will be the most efficient gasoline car in the world with a consumption of just 3.3 litres/100 km, according to company officials. The new-generation Mazda2 will be launched in Japan in mid 2011.

Mazda2 facelift, which was launched in world premiere at the Paris Motor Show, the Japanese manufacturer's first model to be equipped with new generation engines SKYACTIV petrol and diesel. The vehicle will be released in Japan in the first half of 2011, says Automotive News Europe.

The new technology SKYACTIV, Mazda will offer a fuel economy by up to 30% by 2015 compared with 2008 levels. Also on this platform the Japanese company will eventually develop hybrid and electric propulsion systems 100% after 2015.

Without its own hybrid system, Mazda is now among the most advanced auto manufacturers combustion engine technology and vehicle weight reduction.
