Mazda2 Will Have A Gasoline Engine Which Consumes Just 3.3 litres/100 km
Mazda has announced that direct injection engine "SKYACTIV-G 1.3" 1.3-liter gasoline engine (84 hp and 112 Nm), the first of the new generation SKYACTIV will be launched on the market with new-generation Mazda2.
The new engine-G SKYACTIV rate reaches record 1.3 compression of 14.0:1 and provides high efficiency, especially under load at low revs. To avoid riding - a known problem with conventional high-compression engines - the new engine SKYACTIV-G 1.3 includes several new technologies, such as piston cavities created to support the ideal fuel, and injectors with multiple holes that allow precise control of injection .
Mazda Motor plans to introduce the new 1.3-G SKYACTIV Japanese market with the new Mazda Demio (known to us at the Mazda2) scheduled for launch in the first half of 2011. It will be the first engine with gasoline direct injection 1.3 that will equip a compact model built in Japan.
In combination with Mazda's unique start-stop (called i-stop) and CVT transmission, 1.3-G SKYACTIV unit with a cylinder capacity of 1298 cc and an output of 62 hp at 5400 rpm kW/84 and 112 Nm 4000 rpm will have a consumption of just 3.3 litres/100 km (according to the standards for testing consumer in Japan).
