Mclaren: The First Advance On The Draft 799
Impossible not to use the word "mega" to describe the future high-end coupe McLaren. According to the advances obtained by Autocar, the engineers at Woking WOULD BE developing a car that "larger, aesthetically bad and exaggerated" the MP4-12C, with a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine and power exceeding 800 hp.
This engine is coupled to a dual-clutch gearbox Graziano, resistant enough to handle the more than 800 Nm of torque delivered between 3,500 and 6,800 rpm. The performance will be comparable to the Bugatti Veyron: the zero 0-100 km / h does not even take 3 seconds, while 0-160 km / h will be covered in 5.5 seconds and 0-320 mph in 22 seconds flat.
McLaren 799 (the code of this project) will use push-rod suspension in aluminum, anti-roll hydraulic system, traction control mode and five in carbo-ceramic Brembo brakes, as well as a carbon pool (single cell) similar to the already proposed by the MP4-12C. ABS may also debut a smart, switched off when you turn on the track, and a camera (with a telemetry system) to resume the track-day. The new McLaren will be introduced in 2014, with a price of around € 400,000 and availability limited to 500 copies.
