Mercedes-Benz will invest 3 billion euros for compact models

Mercedes-Benz, the second luxury car manufacturer in the world, wants to invest 3 billion in German factories to expand its line of compact models, reports Bloomberg, quoted by NewsIn.

Daimler, Mercedes-Benz car manufacturer, will increase production capacity plant in Rastatt, in a program extension worth 600 million euros, said Daimler chief executive, Dieter Zetsche. "Car manufacturers should be prepared for a polarization of increasingly high industry: cars will be either better or cheaper," said Zetsche.

Daimler is investing in production equipment, in the context of the group is recovering from its worst crisis car market.

German group, which will reduce expenses by more than 4 billion this year, has returned to profit in the third quarter, nine months after the loss, amid strong demand for model Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
