MINI E and BMW Hydrogen 7 - official fleet to UN Summit COP 15

BMW Group will provide the average COP 15 meeting a number of 14 models BMW Hydrogen 7, ten units highly efficient BMW 520d ten security models and three models fully electric Mini E.

Environment meeting in Copenhagen (COP 15 7-18 December), BMW Group will take part in a variety of activities that demonstrate its commitment as a leader of the auto industry on issues of sustainability and environmental protection. As the official supplier of car environmental meeting COP 15, the BMW Group will provide 14 BMW Hydrogen 7 emission-free hydrogen-powered pollutants and ten units BMW 520d diesel and ten highly effective security models. Three other MINI models is completely electric, will take part in the formal program presentation. On December 10 (between 11.00 and 12.30), Potsdam Institute for Environmental Change Research (PIK) will host the event "Driving Home Solutions: Transport emissions trading and regional adaptation information.

A focus of this meeting will be CITIES study commissioned by BMW, which explores how to integrate carbon fingerprints of different types of fuel. Amid a rise in the importance of biofuels, electricity and hydrogen power generator, place increasing emphasis now on full carbon footprint (carbon footprint) of these fuels. CITIES study highlights solutions to assess the impact of CO2 emissions from a general perspective, taking into account the whole energy chain. One of those who gave a presentation will be Prof. Dr. Ottmar Edenhofer, chief economist of PIK and Chairman of the IPCC Working Group III. In the second side event, the BMW Group will present its experience in electrical mobility. This event will take place throughout the Bella Center, on December 9 (between 15.30 and 17.30 hours, the EU Pavilion). The host of the meeting will be the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Reactor Safety of Germany, and the event title is "Innovative transportation solutions - in mitigation strategies and essential part of technology cooperation" (innovative transportation solutions - essential part of strategies to reduce and technological cooperation ). The meeting will take part representatives of Ministry of Environment of Germany, the World Organization for Nature and the Agency for Development Cooperation of Germany (Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit - GTZ).

Among other things, the BMW Group will present the results of electrical mobility project MINI E. The summer pilot users in Berlin have tested 50 such cars on the streets of the capital of Germany. Worldwide, a total of 600 units MINI E took part in similar tests, which enabled the company to develop a significant informational advantage in electrical mobility. Test group is a joint project with Vattenfall Europe AG and was financed by the Ministry of Environment of Germany.
