MINI launches Minimalism line in March 2010, revised engines

Minimalism typical: more power, more efficiency and more driving pleasure - thanks to the range of gasoline completely revised for the MINI, the MINI Clubman and the MINI Convertible. All petrol engines are EU5.

Performance, efficiency and driving pleasure - Minimalism offers more of everything. MINI, MINI Clubman and the MINI Convertible will be available from spring 2010 with a revised range of gasoline engines that meet the pollution rules EU5 and ULEV II (the U.S.). A presence will be the ninth in the range MINI One Convertible. Powered by a four-cylinder engine with 72 kW (98 hp), the new model is very economical, offering driving pleasure typical of MINI in a convertible with the soft-top.

All gasoline MINI models have been reviewed in the fight to decrease fuel consumption and CO2 emission. An example is the progress of the MINI Cooper S, whose 1.6-liter engine with four-cylinder now develops 184 hp / 135 kW (up to 7 kW) but emits only 136 g CO 2 / km (with 13 g / km less than its predecessor).

MINI Cooper and MINI One are also a good balance between driving pleasure and CO2 emissions. The new MINI One Minimalism Line, available with two engine options, has the lowest emissions in the range, using technology to optimize engine braking energy regeneration, Auto Start Stop function, displaying high time to change gear and more, leading to emissions of 119 g CO 2 / km.

The new MINI One Convertible and MINI One Minimalism Line will be officially launched on the market in March 2010.
