Mini prepares new Canyon

Sources inside the company have suggested that Mini wants to make a rival for the new Range Rover Evoque.

Mini coupe preparing a CUV that will compete with the new Range Rover Evoque. The new model will be a coupe version of the new Countryman and will be called Canyon. It was originally introduced in 2005 as a design idea, but chose Mini Beachcomber Concept 2009, which resulted in a concept model Countryman.

Canyon will be a new two-seater version of Countryman's performance. CUV sports site will use a shortened chassis model borrowed from Countryman. Inside Mini opted for leather sports seats and Alcantara, the interior made by John Cooper Works.Regarding the engines, the new Canyon could get able to develop powerful 1.6 turbo diesel 208 hp and 201 hp 2.0 liter borrowed from BMW X1. Traction will be the full ALL4. The new model will be produced at the plant in Graz, Austria because of the introduction into production at the plant in Oxford Mini mini models Coupe and Roadster.
