New car registrations in Europe fell by 16.9%

New car registrations in Europe fell by almost 17% in July compared with the corresponding period last year, severe cuts were made in Germany, Italy, Spain, Britain and France, according to La Tribune.
Indicator is severe decline in Switzerland (6%), France (9.3%), United Kingdom (10%), Spain (23%), Italy (25.4%) and Germany (28.6%) mentioned publication .
The Central European states, registrations have fallen by 13%.
"The market is rolling. The trend is likely to grow because of halting various government programs to stimulate the market. This year will not have anything catastrophic than the average past decade," notes the publication, quoted by Mediafax. Analysts expected a drop in European car market by 7-9% this year.
Reduce enrollment in July has affected German car manufacturers Daimler less (-2.3%) and BMW (2.9%) because they have benefited little scrapping premiums last year. Of general automobile manufacturers, Nissan (-6.4%) and Renault (7%) showed the best performance, the latter due to the success of Dacia.
Had very poor results, in particular, Ford, General Motors, Fiat, Toyota and Honda.
Statistics daily "La Tribune" from producers, covering 30 European countries and refer to the registrations of cars and light commercial vehicles. European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) published no data on summer car market developments.
