New Ford Fiesta was chosen by 500,000 customers

Just one year after the onset of the market, the new Ford Fiesta has been chosen by over half a million Ford customers, setting a new record for the American manufacturer, which is preparing to launch and market the U.S. and Asia Pacific in 2010.
The new Fiesta, the first in a wave of stylish new vehicles that will be launched in markets worldwide, has been on sale in October 2008, the German market. It quickly became the second best-selling car in Europe and a leader in this area in its segment. The new Fiesta was also a key model for manufacturer Ford's market share in Europe, winning this year, to September, 0.5% to 9.2% - the highest percentage since 1999.
After entering the European market, Fiesta was launched in South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and China. Global sales reached 470,000 units by September this year, with 40,000 to 430,000 in Europe and Asia Pacific regions. Continuing demand growth in October, the new Fiesta has exceeded the rate of 500,000 units delivered to customers.
The new Ford Fiesta will make its debut on North American continent will be presented at the International Auto Show in Los Angeles in December 2009.
