Official: Mitsubishi ASX - a new compact crossover for 2010

Update! Mitsubishi has announced the introduction of a new compact crossover called RVR, which will be released initially in Japan in February 2010. Derived from the concept cX (2007), the new crossover will be launched in Europe in Geneva, with the name Mitsubishi ASX.

January 19, 2010 update:

Mitsubishi Motors announced today that the European version of the compact crossover RVR called Mitsubishi ASX (Photo 12-13), will be presented in premiere at the Geneva Motor Show on March 2, 2010.

Mitsubishi ASX is the version with European specifications RVR new compact crossover, introduced in December 2009, which will be sold on the market in Japan in February 2010. The new compact SUV with five seats will be gradually introduced to European markets starting this spring, anticipating a successful commercial producer.

Among other engine variants, the new Mitsubishi ASX will be offered to customers and new EU5 diesel engine turbo 1.8-liter, direct injection and start-stop system, with a six-speed manual transmission.

Update 03 December:

Mitsubishi has decided to designate new compact crossover RVR, also presenting today the first official photos. New Mitsubishi RVR is a global model, but first the market will be Japan, which will be launched in spring 2010.

The new crossover Mitsubishi RVR is a compact (length is 4.3 meters), very efficient in terms of environmental protection, offering high performance and a wide area due according to the manufacturer's press release.

RVR will be equipped with new petrol powered 1.8-liter MIVEC and complete line of crossover models that now includes high class SUV Mitsubishi Pajero and Outlander SUV middle class.

Mitsubishi RVR new compact crossover will be launched initially in Japan and will then arrive in North America, Europe and other regions of Asia, including China.

Update November 13:

It seems that the new crossover from Mitsubishi announced in October will be just as exciting as anticipated leave sketch made public. However, the production model will retain details of the design concept cX, with significant changes in the back.
