Opel built the first pre-production Amper

Opel Amper has made a big step Friday, April 23, when the first pre-production vehicle left the assembly line at General Motors Plant Warren, Michigan. Opel will build more cars amps, for use in tests.
Opel will build more Amper pre-production vehicles in the coming months, as car dealers will not be sold but will be used for testing. Engineers in Europe and the United States also will use these vehicles to change various parameters for the overall driving experience. Amper models will have a very short life, for that will be used to test the safety and structural integrity.
"We are Amper production plan for European markets at the end of next year," said Andrew Farah, technical director for Opel amps. "It is working, but that can drive an Opel Amper pre-production is a major achievement for both teams here and in Europe."
Opel Amper is an extended battery electric vehicle. When will be launched on the market in 2011, will travel up to 60 km in full power mode, and then will take action on the gasoline engine will generate electricity for another 500 km. And batteries can be recharged from a normal outlet.
