Opel introduces additional shifts and fill vacancies in Germany

Opel engineers search for new offensive patterns and alternative propulsion programs. Extra production shifts are added in response to increased demand for Insignia and Astra. Insignia has exceeded 200,000 units built.

Opel will employ 250 engineers for its International Center for Technological Development in Russelsheim to contribute to the extra workload required to mark product offensive.

The company previously announced it would invest 11 billion to revive the 80% of the models until 2014. Among the projects included the introduction of new vehicle concepts, such as electric vehicle Amper will enter the market next year.

In addition, Opel Insignia and Astra are required. Plant in Rüsselsheim, where more than 200,000 units have been produced Insignia, plans five additional exchanges in May and June.

Opel / Vauxhall has already received 120,000 orders for the new five-door Astra, available at dealers in December 2009 and gradually introduced throughout Europe. To meet increased demand from customers, factory in Gliwice, Poland will add 17 additional exchanges in June.

The next period will launch the new generation Opel Meriva and the variant is monocab Caravan Astra, towards the end of 2010.
