Opel Zafira Tourer, World Premiere At Frankfurt 2011

After being presented as a concept in Geneva in March, the new Opel Zafira will celebrate its world premiere Tourer Motor Show in Frankfurt in September. The current model Opel Zafira will remain in the supply side of the new model.

Opel has announced it will officially launch the new Opel Zafira MPV tourer, the version number in the Frankfurt Auto Show, open to the public between 15 to 25 September 2011.

As expected, the version number of the new Zafira is not much different from the concept presented in Geneva in March, keeping the model fairly special exterior design. Here stands the new and distinctive front end, headlights and wing-shaped air intakes integrated into the dual trapezoidal grille, creating a dynamic and sporty.

"Tourer" marks a giant step forward: the redesigned Flex7 seating system, the third generation of the Opel compact MPV market comes to set new standards in terms of flexibility and quality cabin. Driving relaxed grace comes with premium quality refined design, the cabin air cooler, improved chassis and innovative technologies that have increased the comfort and safety.

Compared with the previous generation, the new Opel Zafira Tourer increased slightly in size to a higher level of comfort and safety. Now measures 2760 mm wheelbase (+57 mm) and the distance between the front wheels is 1584 mm (96 mm) rear 1588 mm (78 mm). Tourer Opel Zafira comes on the market with a range of intelligent safety assistance. The SBSA (Side Alert blind spot) that warns the driver of an impending collision when changing lanes away and APA (Advanced Park Assist + camera) helps the driver to find suitable parking place and offers guidance for parking are also available for Opel Zafira Tourer.

At launch this autumn, Tourer Opel Zafira will be available with three versions of motorization 2.0 CDTi: 81kW/110 hp, 96 kW/130 hp and 121 kW/165 hp. Petrol engine range comprises two units of small capacity, very efficient: 1.4 ECOTEC turbo engine with 88 hp / 120 hp and 103kW/140. The transmissions will be available six-speed manual and automatic. Start / Stop technology is offered on both petrol engines 1.4 and 2.0 CDTI turbo diesel turbo.

A few months after the official launch on the market, most likely in early 2012, Zafira Tourer will be offered with a high-performance OPC version that includes a new generation gasoline engines.

The Opel Zafira will remain current with new Zafira Tourer offer, allowing customers to enjoy a traditional MPV functional, flexible and compact at a very affordable price.
